Executive Director, AI Research — Private Assets R&D (AI)

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $246,000–$320,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Define and drive the AI research agenda for Private Assets R&D.
• Develop AI-driven pricing evaluation and comparable-selection methods using unstructured text, financial filings, and embedding-based similarity models.
• Extend nowcasting and cash flow forecasting capabilities with modern machine learning and LLM-based methods, emphasizing explainability.
• Design and deploy agentic AI workflows and prototypes for client-facing products.
• Automate recurring research tasks, including market commentary generation and model parameter re-estimation.
• Represent Private Assets R&D in client engagements and published research.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of applied AI/ML or quantitative research experience, including building and deploying production models.
• Deep expertise in Python and modern machine learning frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and/or deep learning.
• Ability to own research end-to-end, from hypothesis development through validation and client-ready delivery.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex methodologies to senior stakeholders and institutional clients.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of private markets, asset management, or institutional investment analytics.
• Experience applying NLP, document parsing, or web extraction to financial problems.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and rapid prototyping tools.
