What you will do
- Own the AI strategy roadmap, define competitive advantage opportunities, set investment priorities, and communicate the vision to boards and leadership teams.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to identify and scope AI use cases, including AI-augmented customer experiences, operational automation, and data monetization.
- Lead AI capability builds and integrations, overseeing model selection, vendor evaluation, build-versus-buy decisions, and technical architecture with engineering partners.
- Establish cross-functional governance, data and infrastructure requirements, ethical AI practices, and risk-management frameworks.
- Measure portfolio performance against business KPIs, refine initiatives based on results, and allocate resources to high-ROI opportunities.
- Represent AI strategy externally while shaping talent and culture through hiring, retention, learning programs, and experimentation.
Requirements
- 8+ years in AI, machine learning, data science, or closely related technical leadership roles.
- Hands-on experience building, shipping, or scaling AI/ML systems; pure management or consulting experience is insufficient.
- Proven ability to translate AI/ML capabilities into measurable financial or operational outcomes from conception through production.
- Fluency in current AI/ML tools and techniques, including model architectures, LLMs, vector databases, and deployment patterns.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing product, engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to boards, business leaders, and customers, with comfort navigating ambiguity and rapid change.
