Associate Manager, Software Engineering (Aerospace): Leading software engineering teams developing, integrating, testing, and sustaining software solutions for aerospace systems and mission-critical applications with an accent on people leadership, technical oversight, and regulated development practices. Focus on aligning software delivery with technical requirements, program objectives, quality standards, and schedule commitments while improving engineering processes, product quality, and team capability.

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers through feedback, performance management, career planning, and training.
  • Provide day-to-day technical leadership for software design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment.
  • Partner with systems, hardware, quality, manufacturing, integration and test, mission operations, program management, and product leadership.
  • Support technical planning, resource allocation, risk management, workload prioritization, and program execution.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, and program milestone activities.
  • Improve engineering tools, processes, documentation, software practices, quality, and process maturity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software, computer, electrical, aerospace engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 4–7 years of relevant software engineering experience, including at least 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Experience leading software development teams in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles, SDLC, software architecture, integration, IV&V, configuration management, and secure software development.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD, issue tracking, requirements management, and version control tools.
  • Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Rust, or Python.
