Elementary School Social Worker

Location: New York, NY, USA; full-time, school-based role with regular in-person duties and events outside normal school hours.

Compensation: $78,000–$115,000 annually. Most qualified candidates will receive an offer between $78,000 and $84,700.

What you will do

• Provide crisis intervention, behavior management, individual counseling, group counseling, and social-emotional interventions.
• Serve as a case manager and member of the Child Study Team while evaluating students’ personal, family, cultural, and socioeconomic needs.
• Refer students and families to external resources, monitor services, and maintain required records and documentation.
• Partner with parents, educators, and community agencies to address learning, behavior, and attendance concerns.
• Support school-wide systems, culture, activities, family events, transitions, field trips, and other operational duties.
• Collaborate with teachers and colleagues in grade-level meetings, staff meetings, and professional development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work with LMSW licensure, or LCSW licensure.
• Valid School Social Worker Certification from the New York State Department of Education.
• Drive to improve students’ academic, social, and emotional outcomes.
• Proven track record of high achievement, self-motivation, and teamwork.
• Experience working in urban schools is highly preferred.
