Location: Philadelphia, PA, USA; full-time, school-based position

Salary: $56,650–$79,000+ for uncertified teachers; $60,000–$88,500+ for certified teachers, based on experience and certification status

What you will do

  • Create rigorous, engaging unit and daily lesson plans using provided curricula and resources.
  • Build an affirming, organized, safe, and inclusive elementary classroom with strong student culture and classroom management.
  • Analyze student work and academic data to adjust instruction and provide accommodations and modifications.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate special education programs and related student supports.
  • Maintain IEPs, 504 plans, evaluations, and ELL programs while ensuring services are delivered effectively.
  • Manage the special education caseload, lead intervention and evaluation processes, and communicate with families.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of full-time special education teaching experience; urban-setting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Pennsylvania State certification Level I or II strongly preferred.
  • If uncertified, enrollment in a Pennsylvania-approved certification program is required within one year of hire.
  • Transcripts and required Pennsylvania State Police, Child Abuse, and federal fingerprinting clearances must be completed before the start date.
  • Strong classroom management, collaboration, cultural competence, and commitment to inclusive, anti-racist education.
