TL;DR

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; regular driving between schools across Los Angeles, San Diego, and Southern California is required.

Salary: $79,200–$118,800 per year; typical new-hire salary is between the range minimum and midpoint of $99,000.

What you will do

  • Lead and directly manage a team of seven Behavior Specialists, including hiring, goal-setting, coaching, performance evaluation, scheduling, and professional development.
  • Provide behavioral expertise and consultation on special education services, assessments, IEP implementation, behavioral interventions, discipline, and MTSS.
  • Oversee functional behavior assessment assignments and peer review, contribute to FBAs and IEP meetings, and support the development of PLOPs, goals, and behavior intervention plans.
  • Develop and deliver behavior, special education, and professional development trainings for school leaders, teachers, families, and regional teams.
  • Consult on behavioral emergencies, mandated reporting, re-entry meetings, individualized crisis plans, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.
  • Support trauma-informed and preventative initiatives, including Calm Classroom, Calm Corners, social-emotional learning, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.

Requirements

  • BCBA license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, ABA, or a related field required.
  • At least three years of management experience with school-based team members required.
  • At least eight years of experience after completing a master’s degree.
  • Experience managing and developing school behavior professionals and leading complex or cross-functional projects and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral intervention, special education, IEPs, FBAs, crisis response, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive approaches.

Nice to have

  • Pupil Personnel Services Credential or teaching credential.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency.
