Specialist RF Electrical Engineer (RF)

Location: Full-time, in-person work in Phoenix, Arizona, or Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States

What you will do

• Derive RF hardware requirements from system-level specifications and define functional blocks for surveillance architectures.
• Design RF and analog circuits and hardware from component level through complete systems.
• Support detailed design, analysis, development, testing, and design verification of RF hardware.
• Design for and support DO-160 and MIL-STD qualification, including environmental and EMI/EMC testing.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers on demanding performance requirements.
• Present designs and results in internal and external reviews and support products through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• At least 4 years of RF design experience for fielded products, preferably in commercial avionics.
• Academic background in electromagnetic and RF/microwave theory.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ability to work full-time in person in Phoenix, Arizona, or Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Experience designing RF circuit card assemblies from UHF through E-band, with a focus on L-band.
• Experience with frequency synthesizers, up/down converters, front-end electronics, and other RF electronics.
• Experience with HFSS, AWR Microwave Office, or ADS.
• Knowledge of RF components, S-parameters, gain budgets, noise figure, noise temperature, filtering, impedance, and isolation.
