Field Engineer (Civil Engineering)

Location: Based at hirify.global offices in Charlotte, North Carolina, with approximately 90% travel to client project sites throughout the Eastern U.S.

What you will do

• Manage construction inspection activities for assigned municipal transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Perform civil engineering duties, on-site observations, and field quality control inspections under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Coordinate project documentation and control activities with municipal agencies, stakeholders, and field inspection personnel.
• Prepare and process progress payments, change orders, submittals, and construction project records.
• Review schedules, budgets, drawings, specifications, and procedures for compliance.
• Oversee field office administration and maintain daily inspector reports and quality assurance documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in the position offered.
• A master’s degree in civil engineering, including coursework in traffic engineering and highway design, may satisfy up to two years of the required experience.
• Experience with specialized document control software and engineering applications, including Civil 3D, E-Builder, and AutoCAD.
• Must be authorized to accept permanent employment in the United States with any employer.
• Ability to work from the Charlotte office and travel extensively to project sites is required.
