CQA Technician (Civil Engineering)

Location: Pipersville, Pennsylvania, United States; regular on-site and fieldwork required

What you will do

• Perform construction quality assurance observations and inspections for solid waste, environmental, and civil construction projects.
• Conduct soil density, compaction, proof-roll, geosynthetic, concrete, reinforcement, and mechanical piping testing or observation.
• Review engineering plans, technical specifications, and project documents to execute CQA requirements.
• Coordinate with testing laboratories, project managers, contractors, clients, and field teams on milestones and deviations from the design.
• Prepare daily field reports, testing reports, equipment records, and environmental inspection documentation.
• Support AutoCAD drafting, surveying, operations, and engineering services when CQA fieldwork is not scheduled.

Requirements

• Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience, including soils and geosynthetics CQA.
• Associate degree in a technical subject preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork year-round, potentially for extended periods.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with project teams, contractors, and clients while meeting deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software.
