Funds Ratings - Analyst / Senior Analyst (NY)

Location: New York, NY, with a hybrid schedule requiring office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Annual base salary: $75,000–$105,000

What you will do

• Conduct credit research on funds, closed-end funds, and other investment vehicles.
• Develop rating and analytical tools, including cash flow and asset coverage models for fund debt structures.
• Prepare and present quantitative and qualitative internal credit memos and publications.
• Participate in diligence meetings with fund management teams to assess investment acumen, risk management, and strategy execution.
• Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
• Collaborate with experts across project finance, corporate finance, financial institutions, and structured finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or a related field that demonstrates strong analytical skills.
• One to three years of experience as a credit analyst; experience in fund lending, investing, or structured finance is preferred.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to build cash flow models are required.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage time and resources in a fast-growing environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in SQL and VBA for querying databases.
• Progress toward the CFA qualification.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
