Research Analyst (Municipal Fixed Income)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid work. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and retirement contributions.

What you will do

• Research sectors and identify, evaluate, and implement investment ideas across tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios.
• Analyze credit and sector trends and convert findings into actionable recommendations for Portfolio Managers.
• Prepare financial models, written credit reports, and credit review presentations.
• Use data analysis tools and emerging AI applications to improve the efficiency, depth, and consistency of credit research.
• Automate routine workflows, organize large datasets, and enhance monitoring of credit trends and portfolio risks.
• Build and maintain industry relationships within covered sectors and collaborate across the Municipal Fixed Income department and hirify.global.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of research experience preferred.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in the municipal bond market.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree and strong academic record are preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to independently evaluate investment ideas and influence portfolio outcomes.
• Familiarity with AI, data platforms, or automation tools for research and idea generation.
• Series 7 and Series 66 licenses must be obtained within six months of joining; US work authorization without sponsorship is required.
