Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Richmond, Virginia, USA; onsite in a paper plant. Primarily first shift, with required overtime, alternating weekends, some holidays, and rotating call-in availability.

Pay: $31.83/hour, with potential for an additional $4.84/hour upon completion of Pay-For-Skills.

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in paper mill process equipment.
• Install and align couplings, bearings, pumps, rolls, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment.
• Perform rigging and use alignment tools for precise equipment installation.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate metal components as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
• Collaborate with coworkers and management to complete assigned maintenance work safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience with quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of paper mill process equipment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, rigging, and metalworking skills.
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers and management.
• Excellent attendance, attention to detail, organizational skills, and hands-on analytical ability.
• Willingness to work overtime, alternating weekends, holidays, and rotating call-ins is required.
