Claims Expert (Professional Liability Claims)

Location: Windsor, CT; New York, NY; Chicago, IL; or Kansas City, MO, United States. Hybrid work is required, with at least three days in the office each week; full-time onsite work is also available. The position is not eligible for full-time telework.

Base salary: $116,000–$194,000 annually, depending on location, qualifications, experience, role complexity, and other factors.

What you will do

• Handle professional liability claims independently from first notice through resolution.
• Manage construction professional liability claims along with lawyers, insurance agents, and miscellaneous professional claims in primary and excess insurance environments.
• Collaborate with operations, customers, brokers, underwriting, products, actuarial, finance, and risk management teams to achieve effective claim resolutions.
• Analyze claim trends and provide high-level analysis of claims portfolio results.
• Review and support the development of policy wordings and tailored client solutions.
• Support marketing activities through client meetings, industry conferences, and professional events.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience handling insurance claims.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, influencing, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and use technology to improve efficiency.
• Possess or be willing to acquire adjuster licenses for relevant jurisdictions.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with at least three office days per week at one of the listed US locations.
