Project Engineer I (Civil Engineering)

Location: Brentwood, Tennessee, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $68,415–$122,252 annually. Typical Brentwood new-hire range: $76,016–$92,182.

What you will do

• Prepare construction drawings, calculations, technical reports, manuals, and engineering studies under the direction of senior team members and Professional Engineers.
• Research project design criteria, jurisdictional requirements, governmental regulations, codes, and standards.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis and compare design options.
• Revise construction drawings based on senior-team and quality-control feedback.
• Conduct field site visits, site investigations, and due diligence reporting.
• Participate in project meetings, communicate findings clearly, and recommend continuous improvements to engineering designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, Bluebeam Revu, and other applicable design software.
• Ability to document calculations accurately and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Computer skills for daily timesheet entry and Microsoft Outlook correspondence.

Nice to have

• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination and certification as an Engineer-in-Training with a state licensure board.
