Field Service Technician

Location: Mt. Wellington, Auckland, New Zealand; field-based customer sites with travel of up to 50%

What you will do

• Inspect, service, and repair elevating work platforms, telehandlers, lighting towers, and related customer equipment.
• Complete repairs at customer sites whenever possible to minimize off-site transportation.
• Travel to customer locations, including overnight stays when required.
• Complete service paperwork, inspection forms, job notes, van audits, and stock takes accurately.
• Liaise with technical support, interpret equipment manuals, and notify the field service coordinator when work cannot be completed.
• Identify sales and service leads, conduct customer visits, and collaborate with the branch team.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicles, diesel, automotive, auto electrical, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar field service role.
• Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience is advantageous.
• Valid driver's license.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal and external customers.
• Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills for writing job notes, reading safety information and manuals, and handling parts numbers and quantities.
