Maintenance Electrician (Manufacturing Automation)

What you will do

• Perform preventative, predictive, corrective, and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and site infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, control system, and equipment faults.
• Support PLC, VSD, and automation system troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Participate in reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve plant performance.
• Support site projects, equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and spare parts management.
• Coordinate with production teams, contractors, and suppliers while maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Current New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence required; A Grade preferred.
• Experience as a Maintenance Electrician in manufacturing, FMCG, plastics, recycling, industrial processing, or a similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs, VSDs, automation, and control systems.
• Planning, problem-solving, organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to health, safety, continuous improvement, independent work, and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Nice to have

• Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as MEX.
• Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, packaging, or recycling operations.
• Mechanical maintenance or project management experience.
