Wind Service Technician (Palmerston North)

Location: Te Āpiti Wind Farm, Saddle Road, Ashhurst, Manawatū-Whanganui Region, New Zealand. Onsite role near Palmerston North. Financial support for relocation is provided.

What you will do

• Carry out scheduled servicing and reactive maintenance on wind turbines.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requirements and monitor turbine performance.
• Maintain electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and other turbine equipment.
• Work safely with Wind Maintenance Technicians, the Team Lead, and the Site Owner.
• Develop trade knowledge and experience through the competency framework.

Requirements

• Registered electrician or EST qualification.
• Willingness to perform mechanical tasks and work in all types of weather.
• Physical fitness to climb up to 70 metres and lift up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at height.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Reactive maintenance and monitoring are performed outside normal working hours on a rostered basis after training.

Nice to have

• Mechanical, hydraulic, marine, oil and gas, dairy, or heavy industry trade experience.
• Wind industry experience.
