Maintenance Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site at Avondale, Auckland, New Zealand. Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with on-call and overtime flexibility as required.

Salary: NZD 45.00–53.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus KiwiSaver.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance using MEX and recommend critical spare parts.
• Diagnose equipment faults, complete repairs, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain cooling systems, compressed air and gas systems, electrical systems, site services, buildings, and infrastructure.
• Support automation initiatives by developing and commissioning solutions, upgrading equipment, and contributing to project planning and costing.
• Coordinate with contractors and landlords and assist with engineering projects and fabrication tasks.
• Maintain compliance with WHSE requirements, HACCP and GMP principles, food safety standards, and housekeeping expectations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or an industrial environment.
• Maintenance Engineering or equivalent trade qualification with a strong diagnostics focus.
• Technical maintenance and troubleshooting experience, including machining.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and CMMS; MEX experience is preferred.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to work unattended.
• Current EWRB EAS-EST accreditation or willingness to obtain it is desirable; work visa support is available for international Maintenance Engineers.
