Mechanical Technician II (Industrial Maintenance)

Location: Penrose, Colorado, United States; onsite industrial plant environment. The role may require rotating shifts, on-call rotations, weekends, and overtime.

Salary: $33.00–$38.00 per hour, base salary only.

What you will do

• Align, commission, maintain, rebuild, and troubleshoot pumps, motors, drive systems, and mechanical components.
• Lead diagnosis, repair, and improvement of pneumatic, hydraulic, chiller, cooling, gas, and utility systems.
• Plan preventive maintenance, support predictive maintenance, and improve equipment reliability and facility performance.
• Lead root cause analyses for recurring or critical failures and present corrective action plans.
• Support capital project commissioning, equipment startups, modification reviews, and vendor or OEM coordination.
• Mentor Mechanical Technician I personnel and maintain accurate CMMS records, work orders, procedures, and equipment histories.

Requirements

• Trade certificate, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Advanced expertise with pumps, motors, pneumatics, chiller systems, hydraulics, and precision alignment tools.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex mechanical failures and interpret drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.
• Knowledge of LOTO/LOTO-Plus, confined-space entry, permit-to-work systems, OSHA, and applicable safety standards.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons and eligible to obtain required ITAR/EAR export authorizations. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors, and around machinery, heat, pressurized systems, and hazardous chemicals is required.

Nice to have

• Predictive maintenance experience with vibration analysis, thermography, or ultrasound.
• Experience with SAP PM, Maximo, or another CMMS platform.
• Hydraulic systems or chiller/refrigeration certification.
• Intermediate electrical troubleshooting and multi-craft capabilities.
• Experience in oil and gas, chemical, water and wastewater, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
