Structures Test Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite at the Mojave Test Site

Salary: $22.87–$56.92 USD per hour, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Maintain, upgrade, and operate the Haven-1 Primary Structural Test Stand.
• Install the Haven-1 space station hull for static structural testing.
• Service and troubleshoot hydraulic actuators, pump units, servo valves, and associated plumbing.
• Maintain the GN2 pressurization system, including regulators, valves, and high-pressure plumbing.
• Support pre-test setup, static load test execution, teardown, and inspection with Test Engineers.
• Maintain test stand records and support other rocket engine, component, and thruster test stands as priorities require.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in testing, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
• Experience with hydraulic systems, high-pressure gas systems, or welding and fabrication.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work outdoors in temperatures ranging from freezing conditions to 120°F.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export control regulations or be eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Background as a pipefitter, hydraulics technician, or heavy machine operator.
• Experience with GN2 or GHe high-pressure pneumatic and gas system plumbing.
• Familiarity with load cells, pressure transducers, strain gauges, and mechanical load frames.
• Experience with common high-pressure and hydraulic fittings.
