Corporates Ratings - Associate Director (New York / Chicago)

Location: Hybrid position based in the New York or Chicago office, with office attendance required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Annual base salary: $120,000–$150,000.

What you will do

• Lead corporate credit rating processes by preparing internal credit memos, analyzing cash flows, conducting sector analysis, and publishing credit reports.
• Conduct fundamental credit research across industrial sectors and author research for private credit, direct lending, and public debt markets.
• Analyze and publish trends, key rating factors, and evolving credit metrics.
• Support the development and evolution of rating processes and analytical tools.
• Participate in issuer and investor meetings, explain rating methodologies, and discuss industry trends.
• Conduct due diligence and collaborate with internal teams, corporate issuers, advisors, investors, and lenders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, management, or a related analytical discipline.
• At least five years of corporate credit analysis experience in a rating agency, buy-side, sell-side, banking, or similar financial institution environment.
• Experience analyzing corporate financial statements, including 10-Ks and 10-Qs, with strong financial statement analysis skills.
• Solid understanding of capital markets, credit, and fixed-income research.
• Strong quantitative skills, including advanced Excel capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or CFA qualification.
• Prior fundamental credit training.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
