CMBS Surveillance Credit Ratings, Analyst (Commercial Real Estate Finance)

Location: Chicago, United States; hybrid work with four days in-office each week. Some travel of 5–10% may be required.

Total compensation: $73,650–$90,467 per year.

What you will do

• Rate and monitor bonds secured by commercial real estate loans across Multi-Borrower Conduit, Single-Asset/Single-Borrower, and CRE CLO transactions.
• Lead annual and event-driven surveillance reviews of rated CMBS transactions.
• Analyze property-level documents, collateral updates, transaction reporting, and bond-level information.
• Compile rating committee packages, present analysis and recommendations, and communicate with committee voters.
• Draft press releases and rating letters explaining credit views and ratings rationale.
• Support surveillance reports, market commentary, CRE CLO loan analysis, and selected new-issue CMBS analysis in Canada.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of commercial real estate experience.
• Degree in finance, real estate, or a related field.
• Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and ability to work across multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills.
• High proficiency in Excel and intellectual curiosity to develop applications and perform complex analyses.
• All necessary documents for domestic and international travel are required.
