What you will do

• Originate and filter potential corporate debt investments by liaising with borrowers, intermediaries, and sponsors.
• Act as Deal Captain for transactions, owning due diligence, credit ratings, documentation negotiation, and closing.
• Manage existing investments through borrower reporting, rating agency reviews, and quarterly updates.
• Collaborate cross-border with teams in Chicago and London across legal, credit, and operations functions.
• Research new sub-sectors and products to identify attractive risk-adjusted investment opportunities.
• Mentor junior talent, helping them develop technical and soft skills.

Requirements

• Must be based in Chicago (Hybrid).
• 5+ years of credit experience in private credit, investment banking, or commercial banking.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Direct experience underwriting and executing investment grade or sub-investment grade debt transactions.
• Deep understanding of identifying and mitigating credit risks.

Nice to have

• Completion of a rotational training program in commercial banking or a rating agency.
• CFA credential or currently pursuing the CFA.
