Electrical Engineer II - Life Sciences

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, USA; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Design electrical systems for architectural building projects in the life sciences industry under senior engineering guidance.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, grounding and bonding, and special systems for new builds.
• Perform illumination, power load, conduit and wire sizing, short-circuit, and voltage-drop calculations.
• Prepare one-line diagrams, basis of design reports, specifications, installation details, and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, designers, clients, external stakeholders, and construction trade partners using BIM and CAD platforms.
• Conduct field investigations and support construction administration through RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, progress reports, and quality assurance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or ABET-accredited Engineering Technology.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, building, and industry codes and standards, including NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and IEEE.
• Ability to perform electrical design calculations, conduct field surveys, coordinate across disciplines, and travel for client meetings and site visits.
