Mission Lead (Defense AI)

Location: Must be based in Oahu, Hawaii, United States; customer-facing work in secure or classified environments and periodic travel may be required.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead engagements with government stakeholders to understand mission needs, constraints, and success criteria.
• Translate mission problems into requirements, milestones, plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Shape pilots, adoption plans, and pathways for successful capabilities to become sustained programs.
• Create technical narratives connecting agent-based capabilities to operational requirements and constraints.
• Run customer syncs, internal standups, executive updates, QBRs, action tracking, and risk reviews.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Mission, Security, and Operations teams through delivery, onboarding, training, customer success, and expansion.

Requirements

• U.S. Persons status and a current Top Secret U.S. DoD or IC clearance are required.
• 6+ years owning outcomes in complex customer environments such as defense, intelligence, public sector, or similarly regulated domains.
• Ability to lead cross-functionally with high autonomy in ambiguous environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear plans and execution.
• Ability to connect mission problems to software capabilities and measurable outcomes.
• Technical fluency, operational discipline, planning, prioritization, stakeholder management, and follow-through.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying or fielding solutions in secure or regulated environments, including ATO/IL environments and classified workflows.
• Experience navigating requirements, budgets, authorities, timelines, and contracting pathways.
• Deep expertise in cyber, information warfare, ISR, networks, operations, or warfare systems and command and control.
• Experience running executive-level customer updates, QBRs, or steering committees.
