Assistant General Counsel (NY)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid schedule with office attendance Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Annual base salary: $200,000–$250,000

What you will do

• Review, draft, negotiate, and manage client engagement letters, subscription agreements, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Support corporate governance, including board and committee meetings, materials, documentation, and related processes.
• Advise employees on laws and regulations applicable to credit rating agencies and day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with Compliance on SEC examinations, submissions, and regulatory requests.
• Support data privacy, cybersecurity, operational resilience, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist with international regulatory research, registration documents, intellectual property protection, and license agreements.

Requirements

• JD and admission to the New York bar.
• At least 6–10+ years of legal experience.
• Strong experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements.
• Familiarity with corporate governance, securities laws, and highly regulated environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication, research, analysis, organization, project management, and attention to detail.
• Writing samples will be requested.

Nice to have

• Experience in structured finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, or employment law.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
