TL;DR
Mechanical Development Engineer II (Marine): Designing and integrating mechanical systems for marine products with an accent on complex mechanisms, fluid systems, structural components, and manufacturable solutions. Focus on 3D/2D CAD modeling, FEA and design validation, supplier readiness, regulatory compliance, and resolving product issues through cross-functional engineering.

Location: Lebanon, Missouri, United States; onsite. Travel required at least 10%. Relocation is available.

Salary: $70,600–$91,800 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Lead mechanical system design for fluid systems, structural components, and complex mechanisms.
  • Create and validate 3D models, 2D drawings, layouts, specifications, and engineering change notices.
  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability, cost, performance, supplier-readiness, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
  • Work with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and customer service on launches, integration, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead internal and external design reviews.
  • Use warranty data, system testing, compliance checks, and material verification to validate designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in marine product design is preferred, with knowledge of production processes and systems-level engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks, 3D modeling, FEA, and design validation tools including FMEA and DVP&R.
  • Experience with PLM systems, Microsoft Office, and engineering software platforms.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, mentoring, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma.
