Associate Mechanical Engineer

Location: On-site in Melville, New York, United States; up to 10% domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and develop mechanical components, systems, and equipment from concept through manufacturing release.
• Create assembly and part drawings, bills of materials, engineering change orders, and complete design documentation using CAD and computer-assisted engineering software.
• Build functional prototypes to validate mechanical designs.
• Design testing methods, prepare validation plans, test products and systems, and confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Analyze existing designs, troubleshoot issues, research mechanical parts and processes, and prepare product reports.
• Collaborate with Document Control and engineering colleagues on product documentation and updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical design concepts, high-volume production parts and assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to apply FEA and FMEA to product design and development.
• Experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings, with basic familiarity with PC boards, electronics packaging, regulatory compliance, and validation testing.
• Experience with 3D CAD and drafting; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
