Reality Capture Technician – Virtual Solutions (Leica RTC360)

Location: Dallas, United States, with extensive travel to active construction sites and project locations as required.

What you will do

• Perform 3D laser scanning on active construction sites, existing buildings, renovation areas, and other project sites using Leica reality capture equipment.
• Plan scans by evaluating locations, site access, coverage, overlap, safety requirements, and project scope.
• Capture, organize, and document field data with notes, site photos, scan logs, and related documentation.
• Support point cloud registration and prepare exports for Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and other platforms.
• Support scan-to-BIM, existing conditions modeling, Revit modeling, and AutoCAD drafting when scanning workload allows.
• Coordinate with Virtual Solutions, VDC, field, design, engineering, superintendent, and subcontractor teams while maintaining scanning equipment and field kits.

Requirements

• Experience with 3D laser scanning, reality capture, surveying, construction documentation, or related field work.
• Hands-on experience with Leica RTC360 or similar terrestrial laser scanning equipment.
• Understanding of scan coverage, line of sight, overlap, field constraints, and scanning best practices.
• Ability to work independently on active construction sites, follow safety requirements, and travel extensively.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings and floor plans, document field conditions clearly, and communicate effectively.
• Valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

• Experience with Leica Cyclone Register 360/Register 360+, Leica P-Series scanners, point clouds, scan-to-BIM, or existing conditions modeling.
• Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or Autodesk ReCap experience.
• Familiarity with survey control, targets, spheres, registration workflows, shared coordinates, or state plane coordinates.
• Drone/UAS workflows, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, or a construction, architecture, engineering, VDC, or survey background.
