Substation Project Engineer (Power Delivery)

What you will do

• Develop physical substation designs, including yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, raceways, auxiliary AC/DC systems, and bills of material.
• Develop protection and control designs, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
• Prepare engineering calculations, studies, and reports covering grounding, lightning protection, and AC/DC load requirements.
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate designs with civil/structural, network, transmission line, project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Support scopes, schedules, and budgets while mentoring, training, or supervising EITs and designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience executing projects in the Power Market sector.
• At least 3 years of experience in substation design project execution.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard power-sector design software, such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPIPE, and Revit.
• Ability to work independently and actively contribute to an employee-owned culture.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm.
