TL;DR
Sustainment Test & Evaluation Engineer (MILSATCOM): Designing, planning, executing, and assessing independent tests for strategic and tactical military satellite communications and NC3 systems with an accent on verification and validation, system integration, and technical assessments. Focus on troubleshooting communication circuits, isolating hardware and software defects, resolving system-level anomalies, and producing detailed test documentation for DoW and U.S. Space Force capabilities.

Location: On-site in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Travel of up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.

Salary: $129,000–$161,000 USD per year.

What you will do

  • Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing for MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, terminals, subsystems, and devices.
  • Support system integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and identification of hardware and software defects.
  • Evaluate system modifications for shortfalls and interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client.
  • Author and deliver test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports.
  • Conduct independent testing and terminal operations in laboratory and operational environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a similar technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with DoW, USAF, or USSF test processes and documentation.
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting military or DoW civilian clients and working in multi-contractor environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

  • Developmental Test and Operational Test experience with DoW verification or validation organizations.
  • Experience handling cryptographic equipment and testing DoW STIG compliance.
  • INCOSE certification such as ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP.
  • Knowledge of MILSATCOM capabilities and systems such as FAB-T, MMS, Global-ASNT, or GBS.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Digital Engineering, or MBSE applications.
