System Protection & Studies Engineer (Power Delivery)

Location: Saint Louis Park, Minneapolis, or St. Paul, Minnesota, United States

Compensation: $85,260–$121,800 per year, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Perform protective relay calculations and determine appropriate relay set points.
• Conduct relay coordination studies using short-circuit modeling software.
• Develop relay setting files, communication settings, SCADA point lists, and client protection reports.
• Produce relay coordination compliance reports for applicable NERC-PRC standards.
• Support protective relay construction, protection and control scheme development, and design reviews.
• Coordinate with project engineers, electrical EITs, technicians, and substation design disciplines; occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a PE or P.Eng.
• Previous project execution experience in the Power Market Sector.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software.
• Ability to work independently on assigned engineering tasks and support larger, more complex projects under senior supervision.
