Assistant Project Manager (Construction)

Location: Austin, United States; onsite work with frequent movement around the job site

What you will do

• Support project management across preconstruction, procurement, contract administration, closeout, and project financial setup.
• Process subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, subcontractor billings, and monthly pay applications.
• Coordinate with design teams, trade partners, vendors, developers, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
• Develop and update project schedules with the Superintendent and support weekly look-ahead planning.
• Identify and lead cost-saving initiatives through value engineering and accurate general conditions estimates.
• Supervise and mentor Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, and interns while identifying and mitigating project risks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant construction project or preconstruction experience.
• College degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Thorough understanding of building construction and the ability to solve problems collaboratively.
• Experience with Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, Egnyte, CMiC, Revit, or comparable construction technologies.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, move equipment up to 50 lb, navigate uneven job-site surfaces, and maintain consistent attendance.
