Full Stack Developer (Python/Django/ReactJS)

Location: Bethesda, Maryland; full-time onsite at NIH-NCBI and/or remote work

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, commensurate with experience and location

What you will do

• Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python and Django for millions of daily users.
• Develop and ship functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization using modern APIs and frameworks.
• Build web applications, APIs, and services in collaboration with user researchers, designers, product managers, scientists, security engineers, and DevOps engineers.
• Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly code with automated testing, builds, and deployment.
• Contribute to an agile product team focused on a high-quality user experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a scientific field such as engineering or physics, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of full-stack web application development experience with Python, Django, and ReactJS.
• Understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with relational database modeling and data migration.
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
• Experience with Git or SVN and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing Django web applications and services.
• Experience with Angular, RESTful APIs, search engines and backends such as Lucene or Solr.
• Knowledge of semantic markup, modern web layout techniques, and automated regression testing with Selenium.
• Experience with agile development processes and collaborative teamwork.
