Senior Construction Project Manager

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada; travel to project sites across the province for extended periods is required.

Salary: CAD 147,000–197,000 annually.

What you will do

• Oversee construction administration deliverables and manage construction administration and inspection teams.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, design teams, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Review critical path schedules, manage project budgets and schedules, and prepare project status and control documentation.
• Interpret and negotiate contractor claims, price agreements, change orders, and work directives.
• Perform value engineering and constructability reviews while promoting health and safety requirements.
• Visit construction sites, monitor progress, lead project meetings, mentor junior staff, and support proposals and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, construction science, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of construction planning and management experience; 15 or more years of progressive construction and contract administration experience is preferred.
• Experience with construction contracts, document, time, cost, quality, change management, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and site safety.
• PEO P.Eng. registration or eligibility, or OACETT C.E.T. certification with an RCCA designation.
• Experience with roadway, highway, bridge, and transportation construction projects, including Ontario Ministry of Transportation projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills; a valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are required.

Nice to have

• MTO T131 Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution training.
• Experience with MS Project, Primavera, Timberline, Prolog, Procore, Bluebeam, or related construction management and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of OPS specifications, roadway and highway design standards, construction practices, quality assurance techniques, and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
