Software Engineer 2 (Linux/Bash/Python/HashiCorp/Docker/Ansible/HPC)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. Onsite role requiring U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing systems.
• Build automation scripts and tooling in Bash and Python for Linux environments.
• Automate deployment and orchestration using Ansible and containerization technologies.
• Integrate infrastructure, secret management, identity and access management, and CI/CD tools.
• Support reliable, maintainable solutions for mission-critical customer environments.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with at least three years of relevant software engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience.
• Alternatively, at least seven years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with Linux CLI and tools, Bash scripting, and recent Python development.
• Experience with NetBox or similar DCIM tools, HashiCorp Vault, Keycloak or similar IAM solutions, Docker or Podman, Ansible, CI/CD tools, and Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability and analytics platforms such as Splunk.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
