Field Service Technician (Precision Instrumentation)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States; travel within a defined geographic region and to customer sites is required.

Salary: $23–$25 plus commission.

What you will do

• Schedule weekly service visits with the Area Service Leader and travel to customer facilities.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, reassemble, and calibrate Rainin and other brands of pipettes.
• Perform mechanical and electronic measurements, quality audits, and inspections against established specifications.
• Complete service reports, worksheets, repair estimates, parts records, database entries, and expense reports.
• Maintain service equipment, calibrated test instruments, tools, replacement parts, and supplies.
• Support Rainin Depot Service Center activities and promote On-Site Service through customer outreach.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of related experience in manufacturing, instrumentation, or technical work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record; use of a personal vehicle may be required.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills, including customer emails and daily service reports.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and the ability to disassemble and reassemble small precision instruments.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; relocation or housing assistance is not provided.

• Previous knowledge of or work experience with pipettes.
