Facilities Technician (Full-Time/Entry Level)

Location: Fremont, California, USA; onsite, Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, with some weekends. Candidates within a 30-minute commute are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary: $31.25–$36.54 per hour

What you will do

• Receive and coordinate facilities maintenance work orders and respond to laboratory and office needs.
• Inspect facilities and perform preventive maintenance or basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, environmental management, generator, fire, and safety systems.
• Coordinate outside vendors, suppliers, property management, equipment calibration, cleaning services, office moves, and workspace reconfigurations.
• Support safety and security programs, including audits, committee meetings, evacuation drills, incident investigations, and emergency response activities.
• Manage off-site warehouse inventories and retrieval systems for furniture, records, and related items.
• Maintain facilities records, spreadsheets, forms, preventive maintenance schedules, and reporting documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of facilities and safety-related experience; an associate degree is useful.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
