Press Operator 1 - Laminator Operator

Location: Durham, NC, USA; onsite night shift, 6:45pm–7:00am on a 2,2,3 schedule

Compensation: $21.00–$29.41 per hour

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single- or multi-color offset presses.
• Complete make-ready work, including hanging plates, installing cylinders, preparing blankets, and adjusting tension and register.
• Inspect plates and cylinders, verify image positioning, and make color corrections before production runs.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform manufacturer-recommended periodic maintenance on press equipment.
• Perform minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts as needed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications and select the materials required for successful press operation.
• Knowledge of press capabilities, packing pressure, and corrective adjustments.
• Ability to use a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.
• Experience with feeder and feed-board adjustments, including suction, blast, guides, and head-stop timing.
