Instructional System Designer

Location: On-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; not remote or hybrid. Candidates must reside in the Oklahoma City metro or be willing to relocate before the start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Conduct task, mission, learning, media, and audience analyses using ADDIE and PADDIE+M.
• Define terminal and enabling learning objectives, objective hierarchies, sequencing maps, and training requirements.
• Produce IMDPs, TPPs, Training System Plans, CTTLs, storyboards, scripts, and assessment plans aligned with NAVAIR and applicable MIL-HDBK/MIL-PRF standards.
• Select appropriate instructional media and fidelity, including instructor-led training, IMI Levels I–IV, VR/AR, simulators, and training devices.
• Review courseware, multimedia, and training-device outputs for alignment with the instructional design and approve products for release.
• Support SME collaboration, customer technical reviews, training-effectiveness improvements, and NAVAIR/Government meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems, Education, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent DoD training-development experience.
• 5–10 years of hands-on instructional systems design experience, including at least 3 years on active military courseware development contracts.
• Fluency with ADDIE and PADDIE+M and experience producing deliverables compliant with NAVAIR training standards.
• Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-29612, SCORM, xAPI, Section 508, and ICW/IMI Levels I–IV.
• Ability to independently produce learning-objective hierarchies, storyboards, IMDPs, TPPs, CTTLs, and test or assessment plans.
• U.S. citizenship, eligibility for a Top Secret clearance, and successful completion of a Government background investigation are required.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret clearance; SCI eligibility is a plus.
• Master’s degree, NAVAIR/NAWCTSD or PMA experience, and simulator, PTT, VSIM, or other high-fidelity training-device experience.
• Knowledge of HPI, Kirkpatrick evaluation, training-effectiveness measurement, or relevant professional certifications.
• Experience writing technical volumes, past-performance narratives, or staffing plans for DoD training proposals.
