Senior Data Modeler (Snowflake)

Location: Hybrid Flex in Durham, United States; at least two days per week in the office. Candidates outside the local area may be considered in states listed on the posting.

Salary: $107,901.00–$172,642.00 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and document conceptual, logical, and physical data models using relational and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Develop data architecture solutions across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data stores.
• Design Silver and Gold analytical layers in Snowflake for payer-industry business capabilities.
• Analyze requirements, document data flows, and provide architecture input on data access, security, and consumption layers.
• Generate initial physical-model DDL and SQL views for database implementation.
• Lead model reviews, mentor data modelers, and help mature data modeling standards and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree where required, or 7+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of ER and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience with data architecture, database design, data warehousing, data governance, and requirements analysis.
• Ability to work in the Hybrid Flex arrangement with at least two office days per week in Durham.

Nice to have

• Experience leading data modelers through a full-lifecycle enterprise data warehousing effort.
• Healthcare experience, especially in EHR or clinical domains.
• Experience with Snowflake and ERStudio or a similar data modeling tool.
• Experience mapping enterprise or source data to HL7 FHIR profiles and resources.
