Staff Analytics Engineer (Snowflake)

Location: Remote, United States; must be based in the United States. Currently not hiring in Hawaii.

Salary: $180,000–$221,000 base starting total cash; equity offered, no bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architectural design and execution of the migration to Snowflake and Medallion data architectures.
• Establish structural blueprints and implementation playbooks for domain engineering teams.
• Negotiate technical boundaries with leadership, define intake guardrails, and align data platform infrastructure with business strategy.
• Own Snowflake compute-cost profiling, warehouse performance, and cloud infrastructure cost governance.
• Design and enforce GitHub-based CI/CD testing gates to detect query regressions, schema anomalies, and inefficient code.
• Scale AI-assisted engineering workflows through prompt banks, AI code reviews, and automated boilerplate generation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data architecture, or data engineering.
• Experience designing, optimizing, or migrating modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery across multiple business domains.
• Expert SQL skills and production experience with Medallion data modeling.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience using dbt to build, orchestrate, and test production ELT pipelines.
• Deep expertise in production Git workflows and automated CI/CD testing gates.
• Strong judgment and communication skills for managing technical trade-offs, surfacing risks, and negotiating scope with leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling AI-assisted tools across engineering teams.
• Experience integrating headless BI semantic layers such as Cube.dev with downstream AI agentic workflows such as LibreChat.
• Experience with HIPAA-compliant data environments, electronic health records, or digital health operations.
• Knowledge of RBAC, hashing, masking, schema drift management, and changing business processes.
• Basic Python proficiency for pipeline and tool orchestration.
