What you will do

• Evaluate and select risks within assigned authority limits to support profitable acquisition and retention of business.
• Conduct risk assessments against business guidelines, target profit, and performance metrics.
• Analyze risk trends and recommend actions to address them.
• Advise sales and service partners on products and plan options that meet customer needs.
• Build effective relationships with sales teams, brokers, and internal and external partners.
• Support training, technical development, and mentoring for associate underwriters when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant business experience.
• Consistent proficiency at the Associate Underwriter level.
• Knowledge of product provisions, plan designs, pricing, and contractual benefits.
• Technical expertise in risk selection and understanding of sales, distribution, and market trends.
• Strong creative problem-solving, critical-thinking, analytical-reasoning, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to negotiate, manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and take ownership of results.
