Maintenance Shop Technician A (Diesel Trucks)

Location: Long Beach, California, USA; on-site, 2nd shift starting at 4 PM

Pay rate: $37.15 per hour

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engines, diesel fuel systems, transmissions, suspensions, drivetrains, steering, and braking systems.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, aftertreatment, and REGEN systems.
• Use scan tools and electronic diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions and electrical concerns.
• Perform line maintenance, welding, and fabrication on-site and on the road.
• Complete company training programs and support drivers operating collection routes.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience working as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate strong technical expertise.
• Ability to perform inspections and repairs on heavy-truck or automotive systems, including suspension and steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Ability to work with advanced vehicle systems and perform complex repairs with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications T1–T8.
• LNG or CNG experience.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License; CDL B preferred.
