Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States; Monday–Friday, no weekends.

Hourly rate: $27; 32 hours per week.

What you will do

  • Prepare and admix chemotherapy and other medications under the supervision of a physician, registered nurse, or registered pharmacist.
  • Review medication orders, patient information, physician authorization, and insurance approval before admixture.
  • Calculate dosage volumes and maintain accurate medication, temperature, protocol-drug, patient-assistance, and controlled-drug records.
  • Manage medication inventory, lot-number documentation, ordering, receiving, shelving, labeling, billing, and pharmacy data entry.
  • Dispose of materials appropriately and clean and maintain the admixture hood and pharmacy areas in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Support medication supply availability across departments and complete assigned quality-assurance activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of pharmacy experience.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or applicable State Pharmacy Board requirement is recommended.
  • Chemotherapy experience is required.
  • Ability to perform precise manual and finger movements, read measurements, stand or sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
