Senior Interior Designer, K-12

Location: San Diego, California, United States; four days in-office with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays

Salary: $85,000–$120,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead conceptual design, program development, and space planning for K-12 educational projects.
• Develop and coordinate interior design documentation, technical plans, construction documents, and design details.
• Select materials, FF&E, and products that support design intent and sustainable commitments.
• Attend site visits and construction administration meetings, supporting coordination across the integrated design team.
• Mentor junior staff and guide teams in producing high-quality deliverables.
• Lead client presentations, manage expectations, and support project schedules, budgets, profitability, QA/QC, marketing, and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
• At least 8 years of professional interior design experience.
• Professional licensure.
• Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with Bluebeam, plus strong proficiency in standard A/E/I/P software.
• Experience applying design techniques, technical documentation, and sustainable principles with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute to professional organizations, conferences, marketing, and business development.

Nice to have

• LEED AP or another green certification.
• Current portfolio or work samples submitted in PDF format.
