Engineering Technician I - Weld (Welding Manufacturing): Supporting production and engineering activities for welded connections with an accent on weld inspection, print reviews, welder qualification, and process improvement. Focus on conducting root cause analysis, supporting new product launches, resolving welding quality issues, and improving safety and productivity in an onsite manufacturing environment.
Location: Onsite at a campus in Piedmont, South Carolina, USA

What you will do
- Inspect welds visually, audit weldments, and review results with leadership.
- Review engineering change notices and create change request forms for welding errors or print clarifications.
- Support new product launches from design and prototype phases through production manufacturing.
- Train and guide welders, and assist with welder and welding procedure qualifications.
- Perform weld failure and root cause analysis for warranty issues and internal 8D tasks.
- Document inspection results, qualification continuity, print reviews, quality resolutions, process audits, and improvement projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Technical school or skilled trade education in welding technology, automotive, diesel, industrial or manufacturing systems, agricultural systems, or a related field.
- At least three years of welding-related experience in nondestructive testing, visual inspection, maintenance, tooling, continuous improvement, quality technician work, or physical welding.
- Basic understanding of weld design guidelines, standards and codes, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to inspect weld quality against applicable acceptance criteria and safely operate general industrial tools.
- GMAW-P qualification is required. Experience with SMAW, FCAW, SAW, CAC, and OFC/PAC manual or automated processes is preferred.
Nice to have
- Welder Level III or FCAW and GMAW-S pipe qualification.
- American Welding Society membership or CWI/CWS certification.
- Experience operating industrial, construction, agricultural, or environmental equipment.
