Quality Inspector – Piping & Mechanical (LNG Project)

What you will do

• Inspect piping and mechanical construction across fabrication, installation, testing, mechanical completion, and commissioning.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, codes, standards, Inspection and Test Plans, and client requirements.
• Inspect process, utility, and cryogenic piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, rotating and static equipment, valves, supports, hangers, and storage tank mechanical systems.
• Witness and document welding, NDE/NDT examinations, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, flushing, cleaning, alignment, equipment installation, leak testing, and reinstatement.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, inspection reports, NDE records, test packages, and turnover documentation.
• Track non-conforming work, initiate NCRs, support corrective actions and audits, and coordinate quality resolution with construction, engineering, commissioning, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent industry and construction experience in mechanical, welding, construction, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of quality inspection experience on LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, power generation, or heavy industrial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of industrial and cryogenic piping, mechanical equipment installation, welding and fabrication, pressure testing, NDE/NDT, mechanical completion, turnover, commissioning, and startup support.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, API standards, AWS welding requirements, ASTM material specifications, and project and client specifications.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric and general arrangement drawings, equipment installation drawings, welding maps, test packages, construction specifications, and ITPs.
• Experience preparing inspection reports and quality documentation, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Direct LNG project and cryogenic process facility experience.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector, API 510, API 570, or API 653 certification.
• ASNT Level II certification in one or more NDE methods.
• Experience with electronic quality management systems, turnover databases, construction completion software, EPC, EPCM, or owner-led project execution.
