Welder (Gas and Steam Turbines)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; onsite plant work

Pay: $22–$26 per hour on W2

What you will do

• Carry out cladding and weld repairs on machined components for gas and steam turbine systems.
• Perform visual and in-process inspections according to API and ISO quality specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Overlay components using TIG and MIG in accordance with weld procedures.
• Set up and weld components within the parameters of specific weld procedures.
• Grind and detail components after weld repairs while meeting production schedules and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience, with an advanced degree potentially substituting for experience.
• Experience operating foot-control TIG and MIG machines.
• Experience with manual TIG welding.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow quality, safety, and environmental procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with SMAW and GMAW welding procedures.
