Senior Operations Planner

Salary: $110,448–$155,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead integrated campaign, contingency, readiness, and force-generation planning for competition, crisis, and conflict in contested space environments.
• Translate commander intent, supported-command demand, threat intelligence, and operational feedback into executable plans, force packages, readiness priorities, and risk recommendations.
• Synchronize mission planning with intelligence, cyber defense, communications, logistics, training, infrastructure, continuity, and partner contributions.
• Develop continuity concepts, mission-assurance actions, infrastructure resilience priorities, reconstitution approaches, and fielding plans.
• Prepare decision papers, option analyses, readiness scorecards, event roadmaps, leader briefings, and operational-acceptance criteria.
• Lead cross-functional planning events, mentor planners, resolve dependencies, and maintain accountability through Government decisions and transition milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in operations research, national security, military strategy, aerospace studies, intelligence, logistics, business, engineering, data analytics, or a related discipline, plus at least 7 years of relevant experience; equivalent applied experience may be considered.
• Independent leadership of operational, campaign, contingency, readiness, or force-generation planning for complex defense, intelligence, space, cyber, or mission operations.
• Ability to lead cross-functional planning teams, frame high-consequence decisions, reconcile competing priorities, and deliver coordinated products with limited direction.
• Knowledge of operational planning, campaign design, force readiness, force generation, joint or combined operations, and contested-environment execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for plans, decision papers, briefings, and action-focused meeting products.
• Active DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with space mission operations, space control, command and control, satellite operations, or mission management.
• Experience supporting service components, combatant commands, joint task forces, combined forces, or operational headquarters.
• Experience with crisis-action planning, exercise design, readiness reporting, mission-type orders, or concepts of employment.
• Experience with continuity of operations, mission assurance, critical-infrastructure resilience, or operational reconstitution.
• Current Top Secret or TS/SCI eligibility and experience mentoring planners through exercises or capability-fielding events.
